Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers about mobile repairs, quotes, appointments and aftercare.

Mobile repairs and services

What mobile repairs do you offer?

We repair suitable cosmetic vehicle damage, including paint scratches, bumper scuffs, small dents and scuffed painted alloy wheels. Send photographs so we can assess the damage and confirm the right repair.

Can you repair my car at home or work?

Yes. We carry out suitable mobile repairs at homes and workplaces across Greater Manchester, subject to safe access, suitable working space and electricity.

Will the paint colour match?

We use professional colour matching methods to blend the repair with the existing finish. The condition of the paint and any previous repairs are considered during assessment.

How long will my repair take?

Many mobile SMART repairs can be completed within a few hours. The time depends on the damage and work required; we will discuss the expected duration when arranging your repair.

Can you help before I return my lease car?

Yes. We can assess suitable cosmetic damage before your vehicle is returned. Send photographs, your postcode and collection date so we can discuss the work and availability.

Quotes, photos and pricing

How do I get a free quote?

Use our quote form to send photographs of the damage, your vehicle details and postcode. Quotes are free and carry no obligation.

What photographs should I send?

Send a clear photograph of the full affected panel or complete wheel, followed by a close up of the damage. Include both views for every area you want assessed.

How quickly will I receive a quote?

Please allow up to 24 hours on a working day. Replies may take longer at weekends and on bank holidays. Sending clear photographs and all your details together helps us assess the repair.

Can several damaged areas be included in one quote?

Yes. Send photographs of every panel, bumper or painted wheel you want assessed. We will review the complete job and explain what can be included.

Could the quote change after inspection?

A quote based on photographs depends on the information available. If inspection reveals hidden damage or a different condition, we may need to revise the proposed work and quote. We will seek your approval before additional chargeable work.

Appointments, availability and areas covered

Which areas do you cover?

We cover Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Trafford, Tameside, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton, Wigan and Warrington. Send your postcode so we can confirm coverage and access.

Can I book before you have assessed the damage?

We assess photographs first so we can confirm suitability and prepare a quote before arranging an appointment.

Where can I check availability?

Visit our availability diary to browse up to 12 weeks ahead. Availability may change while appointments are being arranged. Your booking is only confirmed once agreed directly with us.

What are your opening hours?

Our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

What if I need to change my appointment?

Contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss the change. Please refer to your booking confirmation and our Terms & Conditions for the applicable arrangements.

Access, electricity and working space

What space do you need for a mobile repair?

We need a safe, suitable off-road area with enough working space around your vehicle and room for our large van beside or close to it. Tell us about any access restrictions when you enquire.

Do you need access to electricity?

Yes. Access to electricity is needed at the repair location. Please mention any limitations before the appointment so we can confirm suitability.

Do I need permission for a workplace repair?

Yes. Please check that vehicle repair work is permitted at your workplace and that suitable space and electricity will be available.

Can weather affect my appointment?

Severe weather or unsafe working conditions may mean a repair needs to be delayed or rearranged. We will discuss the arrangements with you if conditions affect the work.

Painted alloy repairs

Which painted alloy damage can you repair?

We assess suitable cosmetic kerb marks and scuffs on painted alloy wheels. Send a photograph of the complete wheel and close ups of every damaged area so we can confirm the finish and repair requirements.

Can my painted alloys be repaired during a bodywork appointment?

Send photographs of both the bodywork and wheels when requesting your quote. We will assess the whole job and confirm what can be included.

Payment options and aftercare

What payment methods do you accept?

Available methods may include bank transfer, cash where agreed, debit or credit card, PayPal and Klarna. The options available for your repair will be confirmed before payment. American Express is not accepted. See our PayPal payment information and Klarna payment information pages for more details.

Can I pay for my repair with PayPal?

Yes. Once your quote has been agreed, ask to pay with PayPal and we will provide the appropriate secure payment request. PayPal may show Pay Later options to eligible customers. Availability is decided by PayPal and is not guaranteed. Read about paying with PayPal.

Can I pay for my repair with Klarna?

Yes. Once your quote has been agreed, ask to use Klarna. Klarna will display any available pay-now or pay-later choices before you confirm. Eligibility and repayment arrangements are managed by Klarna. Read about paying with Klarna.

What spread-the-cost options are available?

PayPal and Klarna may offer spread-the-cost options to eligible customers. Availability, repayment terms and any charges are set by the chosen provider. Read about PayPal payment options or read about Klarna payment options.

Are PayPal and Klarna guaranteed?

No. Each provider controls its own eligibility checks and approval decisions. DJ Auto Body Repair cannot guarantee that a particular payment or pay-later option will be available.

Will using a spread-the-cost option change my repair price?

The amount payable, available plan and any payment-method difference will be shown by PayPal or Klarna before you proceed. Review the provider's information and repayment terms before confirming payment.

Who manages my instalments?

The chosen provider manages its payment plan, repayment dates and account. DJ Auto Body Repair manages the repair itself.

What happens if my pay-later application is declined?

You can choose another available payment method. If work has already been authorised and completed, an unsuccessful application does not remove the amount due.

How are refunds handled?

Where a refund is agreed, it will normally be returned through the original payment method. The provider's processing times and account rules may apply after we issue the refund.

Is a booking fee required?

A booking fee may be requested to secure an appointment. We will explain any fee and payment arrangements when confirming your booking.

Is there a warranty on repairs?

Qualifying bodywork and paint refinishing carries our 3-year bodywork workmanship warranty, subject to the terms and exclusions. This does not automatically cover alloy wheel repairs or unrelated vehicle components.

How should I care for newly repaired paint?

Follow the aftercare instructions supplied with your repair. Fresh paint may need time before washing, polishing, waxing, pressure washing or applying coatings. Ask us before using products if you are unsure.

What should I do if I have a concern after my repair?

Contact us promptly with photographs and your repair details so we can assess the concern and arrange an inspection if needed. See our Terms & Conditions for warranty and complaints information.
