Mobile Rear Bumper Scuff Repair on a BMW iX3 in Denton M34
This BMW iX3 had a noticeable scuff on the left rear bumper corner, close to the wheel arch and parking sensor. We completed this mobile rear bumper repair at the customer’s home in Denton M34. Careful preparation, Sikkens UV primer and a colour matched C1M Phytonic Blue Metallic finish restored the bumper in approximately two hours.
1. Assessing the Left Rear Bumper Scuff
The first photograph shows the short scuff cutting through the blue finish on the left rear corner. Its position beside the wheel arch meant the repair needed a smooth transition across the curved bumper face. We inspected the marks, checked the surrounding paint and protected the nearby parking sensor before starting.
Damage like this can often be completed through our mobile bumper repair service in Tameside, without the customer taking the vehicle to a bodyshop.
2. Preparing the Damaged Area
The damaged paint was carefully sanded back and the edges were feathered until the repair area felt level. Sikkens UV primer was then applied to seal the prepared surface and create an even base for refinishing. The preparation photograph records this stage before the colour was applied.
3. Refinishing in Phytonic Blue Metallic
BMW paint code C1M, Phytonic Blue Metallic, was matched to the original finish. The colour was blended across the prepared section before clear coat was applied to restore the gloss and protection. The finished photograph shows an even colour transition across the bumper corner with the original scuff no longer visible.
The full repair was completed at the customer’s home in Denton M34 in around two hours. Our mobile car body repair service in Tameside also covers suitable scratches, minor dents and painted panel damage.
